CHERRY, founded in 1953, is a global leader in the development and manufacture of microswitches, sensors, electronic controls, and touch controls based on infra-red technology. The company was acquired in 2008 by The ZF Group, a leading worldwide automotive supplier for Driveline and Chassis Technology. The well-known CHERRY brand thrives under the umbrella of ZF Friedrichshafen AG and in 2010 produced more than 250 million microswitches alone.
