Thermax

Thermax is a leading manufacturer of high-performance wire and cable, utilizing advanced technology to serve the military and aerospace industries. They produce power and data cables, coaxial cables, aerospace wire and cable, as well as commercial wire and cable.
In the 1950s, Thermax pioneered the use of high-temperature fluoropolymers for wire insulation and cable jacketing, a technology they continue to employ in their high-performance products today. In 2012, the Thermax brand was acquired by Carlisle Interconnect Technologies.
In May 2024, Amphenol Corporation (NYSE: APH), a global provider of high-technology interconnect, antenna, and sensor solutions, acquired the Carlisle Interconnect Technologies (CIT) business of Carlisle Companies Incorporated (NYSE: CSL) for $2.025 billion in cash. This acquisition enhances Amphenol’s offerings for highly engineered harsh environment interconnect solutions, allowing them to provide a more comprehensive technology suite for customers in commercial air, defense, and industrial markets.
With this acquisition, Amphenol CIT added Thermax to its extensive high-performance wire and cable product line, serving commercial aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. Thermax complements Amphenol CIT’s range of mil-spec and OEM specification wire and cable, including specialty application designs. Thermax’s capabilities include the extrusion of high-temperature fluoropolymer materials such as PTFE, ETFE, and FEP, among others.
