Hex Standoffs Overview

Hex standoffs are fasteners used to create space between two objects, often to ensure proper positioning. In electronics, they commonly space out circuit boards, panels, doors, or gears. These standoffs come in various shapes, including round, hexagonal, and square, and can feature exterior knurling or swage characteristics. They are available in different configurations, such as:

  • Female-Female (Double Female) Standoffs: These can be fully or partially threaded at each end.
  • Male-Female and Male-Male Standoffs: Detailed separately, these offer different connection options.

Made from materials like aluminum, brass, plastic, steel, and stainless steel, standoffs are designed to maintain a specific distance between mounted items or to set a fixed gap between two components. Sizes and materials vary based on their intended application.
