Arrow HartArrow Hart’s commercial & industrial products are designed to provide performance in the most abusive of manufacturing environments to reduce downtime, improve safety and increase employee productivity. Arrow Hart’s product offerings have been developed to the highest standards and are engineered with unique features that can help reduce installation time, improve safety and provide years of high performance under constant use.

Arrow Hart has a long-standing history of success, offering a product line that includes NEMA-type contactors, magnetic motor starters, general-purpose relays, and auxiliary switches, with a wide range of pole and amp options available. Cooper Wiring Devices, a division of Cooper Industries, provides a variety of residential, institutional, and industrial-grade electrical devices and wiring for consumers and building contractors. The company is the successor to both Arrow-Hart & Hegeman and Eagle Electric, which were acquired by Cooper Industries. The Arrow-Hart brand continues to be used by Cooper Wiring Devices for some of their commercial products.

Contactors are primarily used to switch motor loads in situations where running overcurrent protection is either unnecessary or provided separately. These devices feature a magnetically actuated switch that can be operated remotely through various means, such as a pushbutton station or pilot devices like proximity switches, limit switches, float switches, or auxiliary contacts.

NEMA motor starters are designed according to standards set by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA). These starters are used to open and close high-current circuits, offering protection for downstream components such as motors, machinery, and electrical systems against overheating, low voltage, and overcurrent. They are electrically operated devices that integrate contactors and overload relays to both start and stop motors while safeguarding them from damage. Built with robust construction, NEMA motor starters are available in standard sizes and are engineered to endure harsh environments. They feature replaceable parts for serviceability and generally have longer operational lives compared to IEC motor starters.

Arrow Hart Motor Controls

Arrow Hart manufactures industrial electric controls in both A/C and D/C voltages from 20 amp to 1500 amp ratings. The product line encompasses Contactors, Transformers, Magnetic Motor Starters, Replacement Contact Kits, Replacement Coils, and Relays. Custom or specialized contactors include Normally Closed Poles from one to five positions,

DC actuating coils and Reversing Contactors, Reversing Motor Starters. OEM contactors are manufactured for ONAN, Lincoln Electric Welders M12161 Series, and definite purpose NEMA type contactors with solid-state overload relays and auxiliary switches. Arrow Hart, the company, founded in Hartford Connecticut, was sold to Products Unlimited Corp. of Sterling Illinois, and eventually became part of TYCO (TE), the current owner.

Arrow Hart Part Numbers

The original Contactor and Magnetic Motor Starter products had series numbers of CRA, and RA before becoming Model 86, Model 93, Model 96, and Model 98. When TE, Tyco Electronics expanded the product line, they added the 2000 and Millennium Series. All of the original AH Series, ACC Series, and 3100 designs are available. Authorized Parts, Inc. has produced a handy cross-reference guide to convert older designs to current model numbers.
