The Company designs, manufactures and markets electrical, electronic and fiber optic connectors, coaxial and flat-ribbon cable, and interconnect systems. The primary end markets for the Company’s products are communications and information processing markets, including cable television, cellular telephone and data communication and information processing systems, aerospace and military electronics, and automotive, rail and other transportation and industrial applications.

Bendix Connectors – Amphenol Products

The types of products manufactured by Bendix Connectors – Amphenol include Subminiature Cylindrical Connectors, Miniature Cylindrical Connectors, Standard/Heavy Duty Cylindrical Connectors, Rectangular Connectors, Engine Connectors (Class K Firewall), EMI Filter/Transient Protection Devices, Fiber Optics Connectors, Data Bus, PCB Systems, Contacts and M85049 Accessories, Stinger Missile Products, Freight-mate Cable Assemblies, and ACT Flex Termination Assemblies.

These products, previously known as Bendix® products, are now manufactured and sold under the Amphenol® brand name. The name “Amphenol” will replace “Bendix” on future products.

Amphenol® Miniature connectors offer twice the number of contacts in half the size of a standard connector. These miniature connectors are available in several series, each with unique design characteristics and customer options to meet cost considerations and provide maximum design flexibility. The family includes two MS-approved styles qualified to MIL-DTL-26482, Series 1, as well as several proprietary styles.

Common features of all styles include:

  • General duty applications with environmental sealing achieved through grommet and clamp design.
  • Operating temperature range from –55°C to +125°C and operating voltage up to 1000 VAC (RMS) at sea level.
  • Pin and socket contacts are machined from low-loss copper alloy and gold-plated to prevent contact corrosion, ensuring indefinite shelf life.
  • Resilient inserts provide high dielectric strength and a moisture barrier.
  • A variety of shell finishes (including non-cadmium) and back-end accessories are available within the styles.
