MIL-C-39029/AS39029 electrical contacts are designed for harsh environments, meeting strict military specifications. These Mil-Spec contacts are suitable for connectors used in a wide range of applications, including military and commercial aerospace, satellite, telecom, navigation, avionics and oil and gas exploration.
Contact Design: The contact is composed of three distinct parts, each made from different materials to optimize performance and manufacturing:
- Contact body: Machined brass
- Clip insert: Precision-stamped beryllium-copper
- Protection hood: Deep-drawn stainless steel
Each part undergoes a separate electroplating process to achieve an optimal cost-performance ratio (localized finish). The final assembly is fully automated. Reversed clip contacts are available in sizes 12, 16, 20, and 22.
Advantages and Characteristics: Compared to slotted contact designs, these clips offer several benefits:
- More consistent insertion and extraction forces
- Less variation in force values
- Greater contact redundancy with 6 or 8 contact fingers
Additionally, precision-machined pin contacts are available. All contacts meet AS39029 qualification standards and are QPL listed.
