Ohmite

OhmiteOhmite Manufacturing Company has been a trusted leader in resistive products for high current, high voltage, and high energy applications for over 95 years. Their product range includes wirewound, wire element, thick film, and ceramic composition resistors.

Founded in 1925 by David T. Siegel in Chicago, Ohmite originally focused on producing carbon and wirewound resistors for the radio industry. As electronics evolved, Ohmite adapted, expanding its offerings and moving to a new facility in Skokie, Illinois, in 1953.

Through strategic acquisitions, including Memcor-Truohm and Ward Leonard Resistors in the 1990s, as well as Vishay’s divisions in 2006, Ohmite continued to broaden its capabilities. In 1998, Ohmite became part of Heico Companies LLC, leading to a relocation of operations to Matamoros, Mexico, while maintaining its headquarters in Rolling Meadows, Illinois.

With a global distribution network, Ohmite serves industries such as industrial, medical, military, and aerospace, providing cutting-edge power resistors and continuing to develop new technologies for modern circuit designs.
