Introducing Genesis Series Profusion™ bundled
cables; the simplest, most cost effective solution
for bundled cable applications. This new bundled
cable technology eliminates the need for an outer
jacket. Individual cables are held together by a
revolutionary tight, continuous twist scheme.
The Profusion twist scheme holds the cables
together without any binder tapes or adhesive
materials. Our twisting method prevents any
deterioration of the original cable’s performance.

the individual components effortlessly while
reducing cold weather cracking and flexibility
problems. These cables can support voice, data,
video and other options.
• Cables are held together by a revolutionary
twisting method
• Easy installation; just tape the end and pull
• Individual cables effortlessly detach,
unlike other jacketless bundled constructions
• Lighter, more flexible and has a smaller over-all
diameter than other bundled constructions
• Cables are performance tested after bundling
• Jacketless design saves valuable time for the
installation professional, eliminating the need
to remove an outer jacket
• Eliminates cold weather cracking problems
• No degradation of performance
• Multiple constructions available
• UL/ETL listed and tested
• 100% Guaranteed

High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) is the first
connection to deliver uncompressed all digital video,
audio and data. As of 2007, over 600 manufacturers
have adopted this interface as the newest and best
connection to deliver HD audio and video.
HDMI
cables will connect these devices to deliver better
video and audio than consumers have ever seen or
heard.
HD video is undoubtedly improving in resolution,
color depth and refresh rates. HD audio is now being
recorded and played back in lossless detail. All this
new digital video and audio information comes in the
form of 1’s and 0’s.
The amount of information and
the speed with which it needs to move is far greater
today than ever before and it’s continuing to grow.
Today’s HD audio and video is great and it’s getting
better. To ensure our HDMI cables can deliver the
higher
bandwidth requirements of today and tomorrow’s
best HD,
Honeywell builds our cables to exceed
today’s highest standards.
To validate this performance we carefully test the
Eye Patterns of our cable transmissions. We proudly
include these test results with our packaging and
hope it serves as proof to you and your customers
that
Honeywell HDMI cables can deliver the best
HD possible.
Honeywell HDMI Cables
Introducing
43
44
www.honeywellcable.com
Your time is your most valuable resource. You should choose to spend it talking with customers about aspects
of your job that will yield the greatest profit. For your convenience, Honeywell’s HDMI cable Eye Pattern Test results
are included in the packaging. While speaking with your customers, these results will help you to showcase your
expertise and earn the profit you deserve.
Eye Pattern Test Results graphically depict a
digital signal transmission. Symmetry, a wide
opening and thin lines are all indicators of a
good result. The shape in the center of the
patterns is called a mask. If at any point the
“eye” touches the mask, the test is failed.
The farther away the “eye” is from the mask
the better that cable is performing.* The Eye
Pattern Test done to Honeywell’s HDMI cables
ensure they can pass full 1080p HD Video.
This means that Honeywell’s HDMI cable offers
you the test results you need to prove that you
will get the best HD possible.
This is a good result.
Eye Pattern Testing
Information about
This is a bad result.
For your Eye Pattern Test Results simply look behind
the insert card in your Honeywell HDMI cable package.
*The yellow area between the mask and the eye represents headroom
versus minimal compliance.
This is a very exciting time in Consumer Electronics. Content creators and CE device manufacturers are all
doing their part to create better HD video and audio. All this adds up to more opportunity for the CE Installer.
To successfully navigate these new opportunities you must first understand what is out there today and what’s
coming in the near future.
What kind of HD are you selling?
The bandwidth required to pass a HD signal is computed by:
Resolution
X
Color Depth
X
Refresh Rate
As new technologies are making improvements on all fronts, the bandwidth
requirements are increasing dramatically. To support the best HD, you must
choose an HDMI cable that can support the bandwidth requirements!
Eye Pattern Tests can graphically depict how well an HDMI cable can pass a
signal. As content improves and bandwidth requirements increase, the results
from this test become more critical.
While most “minimally compliant” cables only support bandwidths up to
2 Gbps, Honeywell cables far exceed today’s requirements by supporting
bandwidths up to 10 Gbps. This means that the Honeywell HDMI cable you
install today will be able to support the best HD of tomorrow.
Bandwidth Required (Gbps)
12
Improvements in HD
video are being made
in three major ways:
Resolution:
The total number of pixels in the
video field (or dots on the screen).
1080p is the highest resolution
available today via Blu-ray, HDDVD,
PS3, XBox360 and download.
Color Depth:
The number of colors available for
display (think the more crayons in
the box, the better picture you can
draw). Measured by bit-rate, 8 bit
is common today, enabling 16.9
million colors, 12 bit is the highest
available today which enables
trillions of colors.
Refresh Rate:
The frequency with which new
information appears on the screen.
Most televisions today have a 60
Hz refresh rate, or simply put they
display new information 60 times
a second. New televisions by the
end of 2007 will be able to refresh
at 120 Hz.

Honeywell 7000 Series HDMI Cables
The HDMI Cable Building Process:
Each connector is terminated in a 55 step process that takes about 30 minutes to complete. The length tolerance
for all 19 conductors is 0.5 mm. The cables are soldered or heated tacked via IR to the board in the connector.
All Honeywell HDMI cables are Eye Pattern tested to ensure quality. Eye Pattern Test results are included with
each Honeywell HDMI cable.
A
B
C
D
E
F
In addition to the Eye Pattern Tests like the one being
administered above, 100% of Honeywell HDMI cables, 10
meters and longer, are used to watch 1080p source material
on a HDTV for real-life visual inspection as a final quality
control procedure.
A.
Each HDMI cable is made of 19 conductors included
4 shielded twisted pair. The length tolerance for each
conductor is 0.5mm.
B.
To prepare each HDMI for termination, the braid is
pulled back and secured. Before the conductors can
be soldered to the board the individual insulators must
be stripped back to the minimum amount possible to
reveal the silver plated copper wires. Careful attention must
be paid to maintaining the twists of the TMDS lines to
ensure inter-pair and intra-pair SKU is not induced.
C.
Precision soldering is critical. Any solder spilled onto its
adjacent lead will require the connector to be scrapped.
D.
Once the 19 conductors are soldered to the leads, the first
round of testing verifies a perfect connection. After
verification of proper soldering, a premold is injected to
permanently hold the connections in place. After the
premold, the second round of testing verifies the
connections are still perfect.
E.
Over the premold a copper shielding tape provides further
protection from interference.
F.
The first overmold process creates the red global arc. After
this step the third round of testing verifies the integrity of
the connection. The white part of the overmold is injected
next, followed by a fourth round of testing. Finally the
Honeywell and HDMI logos are applied and the cable is
ready to be submitted for eye pattern testing.

7952NS08
The 7953NS08 HDMI cable tester sends a controlled signal through every conductor in the
cable interface to give you a go or no go decision on the use of your HDMI cables. There
are nineteen conductors making up the HDMI interface composing of nine discrete
functions. The tester is equipped with nine LEDs that illuminate one by one as each function
is verified. Use the 7053NS08 to ensure your HDMI cable hasn’t been damaged during or
after installation; if any of the LEDs fail to illuminate the cable is compromised.
Features:
• Measures each sub circuit within the HDMI interface and displays a
pass or fail function
• Install HDMI and DVI cables with confidence
• 9 LEDs illuminate testing of all nine functions of the 19 conductors of
the HDMI cable
• Easy to use, just connect each side of the cable

HDMI TO CAT5 CONVERTER
DESCRIPTION
PART#
HDMI to Cat5 Converter
7954NS01
The 7956 HDMI line driver & diagnostics unit corrects for corrupt data from inferior loading
on the HDCP and EDID communication channel. Many failures of HDMI signals are caused
by inconsistency of hardware, lack of knowledge by the end-user and excess transmission
distances. Many of the failures are not due to long cable runs, but to the inconsistent
capacitive loading on the buss which degrades the interface and limits the HDMI operation.
Used primarily with cable distances less than 20 meters, the 7956 will display and correct
for corrupted HDCP and EDID data that is required for the HDMI interface to function
correctly. The data is automatically cleaned to its intended dynamic range supplying the
much needed intelligence that the HDMI signal requires.
Features:
• Direct coupled from input to output offering maximum
video bandwidth
• Full balanced line transition-minimized differential signaling (TMDS)
• Self diagnoses and monitoring indicators
• Designed for HDTV 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p
• Four LED-HDMI status indicators: verifies Hot Plug, +5Volts,
HDCP and EDID
• Automatically corrects HDCP and EDID data integrity

Category 5e tested to 200 MHz, available for Riser and Plenum
applications, ripcord and sequential footage markers on cable,
100% guaranteed.
Product Benefits:
Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) Structured Premise Cabling permits
many communication protocols to reside in the same wire bundle,
including voice, data, and CCTV video and control with 2 conductors
for power supply requirements. Benefits of structured UTP cabling
include:
• Better EMI interference rejection than coaxial cable.
• UTP is less expensive than dedicated coax or fiber.
• PAN/TILT/ZOOM Signals.
• Longer distance runs.
• Physically smaller than coaxial alternatives.
• UTP is extremely easy to install and terminate.

The NEC is a highly regarded handbook resource
and considered the most comprehensive document
on electrical safety. The NEC was developed by a
large cross section of representatives from the
electrical industry (electricians, engineers, code
enforcers, researchers, testers, insurers, etc.).
The NEC explains current code requirements
and discusses pertinent code changes. Specific
technical language is contained in the handbook
with complete information on:
• Code Requirements and Application
• Code Intent
• Code Restrictions
• Code Interpretations
In addition, historical trends are examined, and
tables and illustrations are provided. The NEC is
divided into sections, containing articles on specific
electrical subject areas.
Community code for installations are usually based
on information or requirements in the NEC. For
convenience, the Genesis catalog has identified
pertinent NEC articles and scope of article for each
cable group as well as provided useful information
to help with ordering appropriate cable.

Genesis Semi-Extruded Jacket
Genesis Cable Products most popular constructions have the added feature of semi-extruded
rather than tubed jackets. Semi-extruded jackets “mold” the conductors in place. This prevents
the movement of the conductors under the jacket. When conductors move under their jacket,
they can “cross-over” themselves. This creates a convolution or “high-spot” on the outer
jacket. If compressed with a staple at this point a conductor fracture or “short” may occur.
Extruded jackets fit tightly over the conductors to prevent movement. This can create
slightly more resistance when removing the jacket. To assure that the jacket never bonds to
the conductor, Genesis uses polypropylene insulation. Polypropylene will not bond to PVC
(the jacketing material). Furthermore, polypropylene is electrically superior to PVC.
Although extruded jacket cable constructions are more expensive to produce, they pay for
themselves many times over in avoiding costly labor charges due to tracing “shorts” and
replacing damaged cables.

Eye Diagram Test results graphically depict
transmission of a digital signal. The Eye
Diagram gets its name because a good result
resembles an eye. A wide opening, thin lines
and a symmetrical shape are all indicators of
a good result. The area inside the eye pattern
represents headroom versus minimal
compliance. Any area of the pattern that
touches the polygon represents a failure.

Honeywell introduces Genesis Series jacketless
multimedia cable; the simplest, most cost effective
solution for residential structured cable applications.
Individual cables are held together by a revolutionary tight
continuous twist scheme. This twist scheme holds the
cables together without any binding tapes or adhesive
materials. Our twisting method prevents any deterioration
of the original cable’s performance.
Honeywell’s jacketless design saves valuable time for the installation professional by
eliminating the need to remove an outer jacket. This construction is lighter, more flexible and
has an over-all diameter smaller than other bundled cables. Cold weather cracking is reduced
by the added flexibility of this non-bonded design. In addition to the multi-media cable, other
constructions are available.
