Nylon Storage Guidelines / Shelf Life

All Richco nylon parts are packaged in sealed
plastic bags and contain an appropriate level
of  moisture. When stored in the original
unopened bags at 73°F and 50% RH, parts
shelf life is one year from date of shipment.

"Typical Release Tab Location", when
noted anywhere in this catalog, refers to
an adhesive liner release tab that could
exist on any side of a Richco part unless
otherwise noted.

General Features

Richco’s circuit board supports and spacers are designed to hold a printed circuit board to a chassis
or base inside an electronic apparatus. Most supports are designed to be installed by hand, and do
not require assembly equipment. Supports are available in nylon, aluminum, brass, and rubber to form
the largest selection of options in the industry. Stackable supports allow an endless array of design
options.

Applications

Terminology

Snap-Lock

A device that is pushed through a hole in a panel or chassis and snaps or springs open on the other
side to produce a mechanical lock. To remove: squeeze or pinch the locking device.

Snap-Fit

A device that is pushed through a hole in a panel or chassis and snaps or springs open on the other
side to produce a mechanical lock. To remove: simply pull or push, no pinching required.

Special Options

Spacing Heights

If you do not see the spacing height you require for your application, most circuit board supports are
available in custom spacing heights via special order. Tooling and minimum quantity (10,000)
requirements may apply. Please contact the factory to discuss specific applications.

Locking Devices

Richco maintains the widest selection in the industry of plastic circuit board supports. Should you not
see the combination of locking devices to meet your requirements, please consult the factory to
discuss your application. Tooling and minimum quantity (10,000) requirements may apply.

Materials

Color

Most Circuit Board Supports which are manufactured in Nylon 6/6, RMS-01 can be dyed most any
color for identification purposes. Delivery takes approximately 2 to 4 weeks providing that the natural
nylon part is in stock. Please contact the factory to discuss applications. Dyed parts cannot be color
matched. Color matched parts must be made with minimum order of 10,000 pcs.

Stress Relieved Parts

For use of products in extremely dry conditions, most Circuit Board Supports manufactured in Nylon
6/6, RMS-01 can be “Stress Relieved” to retard moisture evaporation from the part. To order, add SR
after the part number. Consult the factory to discuss applications. (Available only in U.S.)

Special Packaging

Most Richco parts come “standard packed” 1,000 pieces per bag. Circuit board hardware can be
specially packed in any quantity as a special order. Minimum order requirements may apply. Please
consult the factory to discuss application.

Card Guides

General Features

The mounting of printed circuit boards within chassis and rack systems
requires that precision, anti-vibration, security, speed of assembly and ease
of access is maximized without compromising overall performance. Richco’s
range of guides and pullers provide the designer with an unrivaled choice of
mounting and locking options to do just that. Vertical design keeps boards in
place, yet allows easy slide in and slide out for installation, repair and
replacement. Some series are available with double channel, which permits
side-by-side mounting. Others have metal threaded inserts for secure
installation. Horizontal mounts are available with funnel entry for easy board
insertion, while others come with tension grips, which apply spring pressure
to hold boards more securely.

Pullers

General Features

• Designed to solve tough insertion/extraction problems associated with large

PCBs and tight gripping multi-pin edge connectors. They use a cam type
in/out action and have leverages up to 4:1.

• Easy to use and install for damage-free insertions and extractions, PCBs,

components, circuitry and connectors are protected from undue stress.
Passivated stainless steel spring pins per MIL-P-10971 are furnished with
certain Ejectors.

• Richco Pullers have been designed and produced to meet the increasing

need for supporting PC boards in a vertical position. Our wide selection
accommodates various board sizes and allows for paired mounting and
gang or tandem mounting. The use of standard fasteners simplifies
mounting. No special tooling is required.
