D-Sub Backshells

Products in this family are used for the construction or repair of D-subminiature (D-Sub) cables, so named because of the D-shaped shroud surrounding their mating region and the relatively high interconnect density they offered at the time of their introduction. These products serve to enclose the junction between the conductors in a cable and the contacts in the connector assembly, providing cable strain relief and facilities for mechanical fixation.
D-Sub backshells and clamps are available in multiple types, including box and lid, clam shell, dataphone, one-piece quick snap, and single or dual cable entry, among others. We manufacture these parts for five connector systems: cable-to-cable, cable-to-panel, wire-to-board, wire-to-panel, and wire-to-wire. D-subminiature (D-sub) backshells provide enhanced protection and increased functionality to a connector system.
