D-Sub High Density Connectors

D-Subminiature high density product line offers a wide range of termination options for board and cable ends, bringing down the overall cost of cable assembly and connectors significantly. The terminations include Straight, Right Angle, SMT, Press Fit, and Slim Sunk for board side, and Solder Cup, Crimping, IDC Ribbon, Solderless Wire Wrap, and Screw Termination for cable side. Each termination variant has both socket and plug connectors. With an increased pin count from standard 50 to 100 contacts, the 2D, Double Density D-Sub Series features twice the number of contacts in the same standard insert area. This is achieved by using field-proven, highly reliable Centipin™ / Centisocket™ contacts on .075 (1.91) centers in a positive contact alignment design. Also known as High Density D-Sub, this innovative connector solution is ideally suited for a wide range of applications in Industrial end markets.

D-subminiature connectors are named for the D-shaped shroud present at their mating end and the relatively high interconnect density offered at the time of their introduction. Products in this family, which are described as “connectors”, incorporate the electrical contacts and the insulation system holding them in position as an integral unit. They are commonly used for board mount applications, although they can also be used for solder terminated cable mount.
