Espressif provides Surface Mounted Devices (SMD) module — ESP-WROOM-02 in which ESP8266EX is embedded for testing and further development.
The ESP-WROOM-02 module is a highly integrated WiFi 802.11 b/g/n module that consumes extremely low power while providing a wireless internet connection for embedded devices. With a very small form factor (18mm by 20mm), this wireless module easily assimilates into resource limited devices. These features make it a great choice for OEMs to connect their IoT (Internet of Things) applications.
