The Texas Instruments LM317 positive linear voltage regulator will operate at 1.5A for voltages ranging over 1.2 to 37 volts. Two external resistors are essential to set the output voltage. The adjustable three-terminal regulator is very robust, featuring safe area protection, internal current limiting and thermal overload shutdown. The protection will remain even when the adjustment terminal is disconnected. The LM317 regulator IC produces a typical line regulation of 0.01% and typical load regulation of 0.1%
