Ametherm miniAMP Series Inrush Current Limiters are designed for applications where board space is limited and cool operation is desired. The miniAMP series is rated for 250mA to 3A continuous current and up to 20 joules of input energy, available in 3, 5, and 8mm diameters and weigh as little as .06 grams. The miniAMP Series is a cost effective and efficient way to protect components such as relays, diodes, and fuses from inrush current.

A thermistor is a device whose electrical resistance is controlled by temperature. Thermistors are available in two types: NTC thermistors, or negative thermal coefficient thermistors, and PTC thermistors, or positive thermal coefficient thermistors. In NTC thermistors, the resistance decreases proportionally with increases in temperature. PTC thermistors, on the other hand, have increasing resistance with increasing temperature.
